Organic Heat Protectant

my mom dyes her hair, VERY damaged? ( looks long, not really :) )?

my mom dyes her hair at least 1 time a month. sometimes, its just roots, but she does it often.
her hair looks like it exploded, and she uses all kind of natural and organic products at home,
like mayonnaise,
olive oil,
etc.

recently shes been trying some sort of carrot creme that I have to put in her hair !

it looks like it really has exploded. the roots arent too bad, but the ends. they feel rough too.

i asked her today if i should flat iron it for her. she said her hair i damaged enough.

this made me realize why she doestn want ME to flat iron my hair.

she is just being a mom, but this causes her to steer me away from hair damaging products, like not even HEAT PROTECTANT.

if you tell me how to fix her hair, hopefully i can convince her? thnx.

ok all these natural hair products might not be doing the trick in repairing your mother's hair.
What i recommend her doing is buying Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, its only $5 for a 25oz bottle. She can get it at Walmart or CVS. It works very well with strengthening and nourishing hair from root to tip. Or she can get Herbal Essences: Color Me Happy Shampoo and Conditioner which will keep her hair color look better for longer. She might want to cut the tips a little to prevent split ends of course. tell her to continue with her old treatments as well but this should help her out in the long run.

As for her letting you straighten her hair I don't see why she should let you, but I hope I can convince her otherwise.
What you're going to want to get is a good ceramic or titanium straightener. You can get a good one from Sally's (That's where I got my Titanium straightener for $55 and it works very well). Anyway now you need for *extra protection is Dove Damage Therapy Heat Defense Shampoo it helps protect up to 425oF, again Walmart or CVS for $5. This helps build a protective shield around the hair fiber to help your hair defend against high temperatures from heat styling tools. Afterwards when you're about to straighten your hair I recommend you use Tresemme Thermal Creations: Heat Tamer Spray which minimizes heat damage. So it will be like having 2 shields on your hair to defend it from heat so very little damage will be done when straightening it. Your mother can also use this to prevent further damage and still have great looking hair.

Hope this helps, I'm a 15 year old boy just in case you were wondering ^_^
